The Crafty Kit is a concept we have been thinking about for quite a while now! At Flite Test we have built many, many foam board airplanes and we have become fairly particular on what kinds of tools we use to put these designs together. The Crafty Kit is NOT just the cheapest materials we could find that would get the job done.

Flite Test is here to educate, entertain and elevate those who have an interest in flight. We live in a world where people are inside too much, disconnected.
They are the exact tools that we have around the shop that help us work efficiently and effectively. We also wanted to utilize every aspect of the Crafty Kit, including the box. The box that this kit is shipped in unfolds to create a workspace that is screen printed with a measurement grid and an info graphic that defines a lot of the basic information regarding the hobby. FT Hot Glue- After testing dozens and dozens of glue formulas, we have finally settled on one that works best for us. You receive two pounds (20 ten inch sticks) of glue with the crafty kit.Razor Blades- We have included premium carbon tool steel blades with your kit. They retain their edge longer then any other blades we have used and of course they are replaceable.
It is important to keep a fine edge to keep the build process running well.Measurement- We include a high quality stainless steel 18 inch ruler and a precision triangle. (features SAE and Metric).
Will 30th Jan 2017 Money well-spentWhat a great kit. The contents are really well thought out. I purchased it to ensure that I have the exact tools and materials used by FliteTest in their builds. I am also appreciative of the FliteTest store for stocking/selling most of the consumable products.I'm not yet clear about how useful the electronic bits will be to me.Two suggestions.1) replace the transparent triangle with one of the many orange tinted ones (far less likely to be thrown out with the scraps by mistake)2) the user of the small box cutter would benefit greatly from some kind of blade lock on the device to keep it from continually exposing more blade. Stew G 22nd Jan 2017 Great quality and value for newbiesAs a newbie to the hobby it was a little daunting trying to figure out exactly what to buy - what were the nice to haves and what was essential. The FT folks really took care to assemble these items from both a value and use perspective.
We already had a small glue gun, blades and tape, but as the description says, the items included in the kit are a cut above, and the electronics are truly essential. If I was going to add anything else it would be a pair of Z-bend pliers. Sure you can DIY, but I love how easy it is to cut and make perfect control linkages with the tool. Thanks FT! Richard Tomolillo 16th Dec 2016 The kit looks great!I have not had a chance to use the kit yet, but it has everything you would need to get you started.

With this hobby you never have enough of anything, but the kit is a great start. Anyone can buy a store bought airplane, but when you build it yourself and you see it fly there is a definite amount of pride that flows though your body. A satisfaction that says I did it!
That's my plane in the sky. And when it crashes you can build another for less than twenty bucks. Let's see you do that with a store bought plane!
A plane that you build has your personality to it. A store bought plane someone else s.
Johnny R with an old car, Good when it actually comes out.The podcast has been very intermittent over the years. It’s entertaining when it’s on though.
This “rerelease” of sorts stays with that theme, as it appears it was recorded a few weeks ago, judging by content they discussed.Definitely have a listen if you like any type of RC flying, would still recommend this to listeners. Mostly wrote the review for the Flitetest team to see, and hoping they take it in love and not as a harsh criticism.
