Accuracy is largely down to how the measure is defined. There is no proper definition as to how to measure DPS.Don't try to compare different meters in terms of numbers, but instead in terms of features or functionality.Find what gives you the tools you want.Well no, Skada's way of measuring is generally just misleading due to the not recording until you personally are in combat aspect of it. It means outside of perfect combatlock bosses (not even all raid bosses do this, and it just gets more inaccurate in M+).
The only benefit it had over recount was performance related, and that's a tough sell for having. Factually incorrect information.Unless you're on a hamster I'd recommend details, but if you need a meter without performance hit skada does it best still afaik - even if you may be wrong on what you're seeing sometimes. If you can handle the memory usage. Skada if you want lighter weight. You should use Warcraft Logs anyway. DPS meters are always 'quick looks on general look of the fight like who slacked on adds'I like skada, it seems to have worked fine for me and you can make it 'actively to search combat' if the 'it starts when I am in combat' part annoys you.

I dont use that tho since you should probably be first ones to dps boss on pulls. Also Skada has plugins like Avoidance&Mitigations which show how much people absorded, dodged/parried/reflected etc etc. Better than just looking at dmg taken. And 'fun' plugins like player score which counts dmg/healing done, avoided dmg, dmg taken and gives you 'score' based on it and keeps log of who did best deeps/heals on boss at your guild. Well no, Skada's way of measuring is generally just misleading due to the not recording until you personally are in combat aspect of it.

Recount by default excludes downtime during fights or active DPS. So during transition phases it turns off to keep your DPS higher while Skada/Details calculates the entire duration of the fight. Recount is also a cpu pig.

Skada being a bit better and Details being the best. My Skada and Details have always matched worldoflogs and warcraftlogs while Recount is always off.-Updated -. Recount is also a cpu pig. Skada being a bit better and Details being the best. In terms of in-game addons it's hard to argue with details. It's relatively light-weight (let's be honest here, if you're worried about memory usage of a single addon in WoW in 2017 you have a major system problem that goes beyond the addons you're using) and provides a massive amount of accurate info that can be tailored and dissected to your needs. For more serious encounter analysis outside of near-real-time though nothing beats warcraftlogs. That said I find it best not to leave a meter up during a fight, or at least not to pay much attention to it if you do. Unless you're specifically trying to diagnose an issue it doesn't help much and just distracts you from what you're doing.
